Live Blogging the Blizzard: Me of Little Faith

It was 7:21 p.m. The kids were read to and sung to and hugged on and kissed and, just before starting happy thoughts, we realized they needed water. So I went to get some and looked out the bathroom window.

Snow.

It hadn't been snowing 10 minutes earlier. But there it was, wind blowing dry snow all over the place but some starting to stick.

We got the kids out of bed, without telling them why, and to the big window in our room so they could see.

"SNOW!" They were so excited. And ready to go play. And ready to believe it was Gommie Day and Christmas all rolled into one. We watched it blow and accumulate for a bit and then headed back to bed.

First happy thoughts: snow.

And of course, now there is no sleep at all.

But at least we're all going to bed happy.
