I seem to miss all the "must-see" restaurants in NYC, you know, the destination spots that aren't necessarily known for their food but have iconic status as occasion places. I never ate at Windows on the World. I didn't get to the Russian Tea Room or the Plaza for tea. We won't be able to make it to Tavern on the Green before it closes at the end of the holidays. And now I just read that Cafe des Artistes is gone. And I can't stop looking at the picture of the Orange Savarin they once served--isn't it lovely? I guess, at least in theory, I can make that at home. I wonder which famed restaurant that I've never been to will be next?

Another Missed Opportunity

Have you cinsidered The Ritz in London? You have to book 4 months in advance and clothes are inspected before you are allowed in!
