Icing Live

Okay, I'm not icing anymore, but I did. And I wasn't that impressed. Though, truth be told, I didn't use the recipe quite as written. I did not boil and drain fresh zest; instead, I rehydrated dried peel. But there just isn't that much orange flavor in the icing. So the whole "orange" part of the Orange Butter Cookie gets lost. And instead of being striking white it's kinda the same color as the cookie, which isn't quite as impressive. Oh, well, that'll teach me to be lazy. That said, it is a marvelous butter cookie and so I'll just work on the orange part.
