Well, it's coming. Lots of it, 7-10 inches, maybe even blizzard conditions. The perfect snowstorm.
Except the timing is all wrong. We're supposed to be wandering NYC tomorrow, enjoying the holiday sights. And then spending the night with family and celebrating Christmas with them, heading home sometime Sunday midday.
That is harder, less enjoyable, in strong winter storm conditions.
So, what to do? Change the structure of the visit? Postpone? Wait and see? We're not sure which tactic to take--the storm could come early, come late, be less severe, more severe; there's no telling. What we do know is we don't want to be in midtown in a snowstorm or stranded in NYC an extra day (i.e. Sunday night) because of cats, work, and our gingerbread house party. Otherwise, I think we could adapt. Even though 3/4 of us have colds. Because there really is nothing like the city during December and we have all been looking forward to the visit, to the beginning of the Christmas celebrations at Ma and Gong's house.
And so we wait. And think. And plan. And cry (okay, only Sis is crying, because she is so highstrung and wants the huge snowstorm AND the visit NOW. Oh, and the candy for the gingerbread house party. And the graham crackers. And hot chocolate. And Gommie and Pop. And Christmas. And Easter. NOW.)
I'll let you know.
