We're wrapping up the holidays, two of them, actually. Tomorrow we go into town to celebrate Christmas with Ma, Gong, and Goo. Though we saw them Christmas Eve, we always like to go down to see their tree and open presents there.
Also, I'm still eating black-eyed peas, this time in my version of Hoppin' John. That dish, mainly of peas and rice, isn't one of my family's staples so I made it up (I'm not even sure I remember how). Basically, take equal parts leftover beans and rice (brown, tonight), mix together, and top with lots of grated cheddar cheese until it's, as Sis would say, an "oopy, goopy mess." Delicious. Though, I should note, I'm the only one in the family who had any.
