They say the best things come in small packages.
Today, I received two small packages: white paper lunch bags decorated with green-stamped trees and gingerbread cookies and filled with red paper. Sis made me sit on the couch with my eyes closed while she unwrapped the insides for me and held them up. Bud stood by helpfully.
"Open your eyes!"
And there were two homemade, glitter-filled, painted, wooden wreath ornaments with Sis and Bud's pictures inside. Sis jumped up and down with the ornaments swinging in the air so that I could hardly see the cute pictures, clearly taken on election day when they had their "I voted today" stickers on (that's a good day to commemorate). Sis is staring thoughtfully at the camera in her picture, Bud is laughing and looking away in his, which is pretty typical for both of them. We hung the ornaments on their little fabric trees, that is until Mama came home and was presented with them both all over again.
Good things really do come in small packages.
And in paper bags too.
