Actually, you might not know that the kids and I have named my minivan "Homer." Because, you know, it's an Odyssey.
They like that story, with Odysseus, the Trojan Horse, Scylla and Charybdis, the Sirens, Penelope, Poseidon. So it seemed fitting. Luckily, they weren't watching "Jungle Junction" at the time, or it might be an "Ellyvan."
Yesterday, they spent the afternoon washing Homer. Top to bottom, grill to bumper, over and over again. And we all got as wet as the van did. Though maybe not quite as clean, because Sis took to making mud pies at some point and Bud began playing with his flying disc and rolling around in the grass.
But Poseidon must nonetheless have been pleased because, contrary to popular belief, it did not rain right after we finished!
