Okay, so I didn't watch the Academy Awards at all last night, not even tracking the liveblogging on the NYTimes (I don't go to the movies and I'm just not that interested in Hollywood much anymore). Instead, I finished watching Emma on "Masterpiece Theater" and then started watching Cranford (in fact, I'm watching it still now), based on the Victorian novel by Elizabeth Gaskell. Mama played her video games, while petting the cat. It was a delightful evening.
Cranford is not just Cranford, it is a village sitting astride the River Crane which runs into the River Thames near Isleworth. I only discovered that a few weeks ago, you have 40 years advantage of me but I know not what you can do with the knowledge.
