- You will never know who did it. You will have turned your head for a millisecond and then they will both be crying. And you won't know what happened or "who started it." You try to figure out whom to send to time out but in the end you tell them to "work it out." Because of course they both did it.
- You will rarely get a good picture of both of them together. And if you do, you will have taken 20 pictures before that.
- There will always be a split decision. It's like living with a Republican and Democrat. They see things differently. They want different things. That includes dinner, tv show, playing outside or going inside. Sometimes they do it just to be contrary. How to cope? Well, for now, we have taught the kids "eeny meeny miney moe," which they like so much they request it. Think it would work in Congress? Who cares, we won!
- A caveat to the "different but equal rule": just because you buy something for one (new coat, shoes, underwear) doesn't mean you have to buy something for the other one (because sometimes they just don't need a new one yet). Just don't ever do it while they are watching. You're Santa Claus/Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy, you need the practice being sneaky anyway.
- Moods are contagious. Crying begets crying; giggles create more giggles. This can work in your favor. Or not.
- Dress the kiddos in the same color if not the same shirt when you are going out in big places or crowds. It makes it easier to find them and then you need only remember one color.
- Regardless of what they eat, they will always poop within 5 minutes of each other. I swear.

Two's A Charm
Quickly, a few more lessons I have learned from having two kids, in addition to my previous post on the subject.
