I'm under the weather in a mental sense, I think. Down, though not out, just a little sad and depressed. There are particular reasons--my friend's move, challenges with my diet, difficulty with some of my wellness exercises, the sudden illness of my professor, even the absence of my babysitter today--and more general ones, like my paranoid sense that Obama will lose this election (or worse, win the popular vote and lose the electoral college--election 2000 all over again) and we will sink further and further into a shameful Republican quagmire (because, damn, if we can't elect a Democrat after these last 8 years, we'll never be able to again and the country will continue to go to hell). And, after years of loving "fall back," I hate the end of daylight savings time--the kids go to bed on the new time but wake up on the old, which means less sleep and more grumpiness for all of us. It's been a long day. Even our last activity today, making Rice Krispies, was only marginally comforting. We added a handful of chcolate chips to the melting marshmallow-butter mixture, then added all the cereal, and, once it was mixed in, another handful or two of chocolate chips. Wow. Better than Cocoa Krispies or chocolate marshmallows. I could imagine it with dried cherries or Craisins. But--and this is the "marginally" part--I only had a taste because I'm doing Core now and didn't want to eat much.
Blah.
