It's late, the kids are asleep, Mama is in NYC ready for her flight to Bangkok tomorrow, and here I am, awake, watching a Harry Potter movie, alone in bed, having had a long bath (during which I read and article on the history of Istafan, in Iran), not really ready to divest myself of my thoughts of the day except to say that I think the kids had a great birthday, from waking up with Gommie in the house, to finding the giant felt World Map from Mama in the basement, to opening lots of family presents, to taking Gommie on a tour of the zoo, to their party there with playgroup and church friends, and even their babysitter, to petting a chinchilla and riding the carousel, and helping put the candles in their own cakes, to running the maze there a zillion times, dancing a "freeze dance" at a concert, coming home, resting, opening up so many wonderful presents, playing, eating, talking to Pop and Goo and Aunt Banana on the phone, collapsing in bed early.
Well, it's not early, but I'm going to collapse in bed too.
Good night!
