Brown Fat

No, this is not a recipe for a roux.

It's a kind of fat that researchers have just discovered and located in human adults that burns more calories, particularly when activated in cold temperatures.  Babies have this fat in abundance because they can't shiver their muscles to stay warm; neither can mice, who have lots of brown fat. But scientists always thought it went away completely in adults.  Not true.

Hmmm, I'm moving to Canada!

  1. Something wrong here, I heard about Brown Fat well over ten years ago, please do another check, perhaps you have a different colour of brown.

Dont go to Canada, it can get REAL cold there, minus 40 as a norm. Did you know minus 40 is the same in F as C?
