Autumnal Prelude

It's darker in the mornings, have you noticed? And light is fading faster in the evenings. And yesterday, with the breeze blowing and the humidity low, I could almost feel fall coming. Especially because the wind knocked loose some leaves that then fell gently to the ground, though still bright summer green. We went for a walk with our scooters and played in the backyard. There, we found a giant spider web and talked for awhile about how and why spiders make webs, while admiring the glimmering web dancing in the breeze. Sure, there are still several weeks to the official (and even unofficial) end of summer, and it will certainly be hot again. But fall is coming.
