Once Upon Our Potties

Knowing that I couldn't be lazy about it anymore, we have started potty training in earnest, heaven help us all.

We have charts on the downstairs bathroom door, stickers for attempts and successes, and a reward scheduled for the end of the week if there are enough stickers (and probably even if there aren't). There are books on potties and how everyone poops, and the DVDs Once Upon a Potty. Anyone else notice that the kids in that video are a lot younger than kids being trained now? No punishments, no embarrassment, lots of cheering and praise and dancing.

Buddy and Sis have each tried--and succeeded--on the potty when asked; it's never self-initiated. We go three times a day right now, to get used to it: wake-up, lunch, and bathtime. Next week, every hour or so. When we spend some outdoor time, we'll be diaper-free (either in panties or not). I'm told that is really the clincher. I'm hoping to be pretty much trained--during the day, anyway--by the end of the summer. And regardless of where we are, we're wearing pull-ups for the wedding.
