We tasted the first crops in our container garden today. We had been playing outside all morning, and, as per usual, perused our garden as we headed inside. The flowers are spreading, the grass seed is filling in, and there are vegetable plants in our pots. Nothing near ready to eat yet. Except the mesclun. I thought Mama was nuts for buying lettuce but turns out it was a great idea. So, there we were, water bottle in hand, washing lettuce leaves and eating them. Yum.
Now, just to convince the kiddos not to eat just any plant in the yard!
