Traffic Tales

We were in traffic for about 8 hours yesterday, to Queens, to Midtown, back to Queens, and home. In rush hour 3 of the 4 times. And in rain 3 of the 4 times. Some events of note:

• The morning drive took so long that Bud forgot where we were going! Takes. So. Long. Mama and I laughed til we cried. Which elicited "why are you laughing?" from the backseat with no real explanation from the front.
• Traffic was so slow on the LIE back out to Queens that we saw a pigeon land and sit on the roof of the car in front of us!
• When we stopped on I-95 on the way home so I could run to the restroom, I had a real yearning for Texas . . . and for Buckee's!!!
