And I don't mean that in a good way.
Yesterday, the heat was in the low 90s, the humidity in the high 80s, making it pretty miserable here in a state not partial to air-conditioning.
And then at 3:45 p.m. almost on the dot, the sky opened up and rained torrents, in a way I haven't seen since Houston. Or New Orleans. Or Disney World. In fact, we matched Houston degree for degree yesterday.
It's similar today, except our 4 p.m. storm is accompanied by a tornado watch, which we're under until after bedtime. (But here in CT, we do have basements to hide in.)
Thank heavens lil' ol' Texan me insisted on central AC in our house!
But it doesn't really make me long for home (or at least the weather, which we'll meet head on in a few weeks).
At least, as I understand it, CT goes back to its more seasonal 75ish for the week. This storm today is apparently a "cold front." Got any of those right now, Houston?
