Sherlock Sis

"Mom, are those crumbs on that baking sheet?" Sis said to me at breakfast yesterday.

Caught.

"Did you bake something?"

"Yes, last night, Mama and I had scones." ERGH. Always remember to clean up all evidence. How did I miss the baking sheet? "Oatmeal scones. You've had them but you didn't like them."

"I want to try it again."

And normally I applaud sharing, but I was saving the last ones for another post-dinner treat.

But I gave in and gave Sis a "smidgen."

"I like it. Can I have some more please?" How come they always remember their manners when you most don't want to help?

Sure. Another smidgen.

And another.

Until one whole scone was gone.

Sis liked them a lot. Which adds another recipe to our repertoire.
I told Mama that night how lucky she was that I share. Because the one Sis ate had been Mama's!
