You might say it was a movie, so odd and unreal are the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and rediscovery of Hannah Upp, a NYC school teacher who disappeared and was fished out of the water off Staten Island three weeks later.
The cause? Dissociative fugue, a form of amnesia.
Wait, that is a movie: The Bourne Identity, which takes it's name from a 19th-century preacher who had the first recorded case of the fugue, which often includes travelling.
At least real life had a happy ending (actually, the movie might have too; I've never seen it).
