On Snow

Zoe Lewis sings a song with the refrain "let's get poetic, city girl," describing how her girlfriend compared the sliver of the moon to a fingernail and other urban or unnatural comparisons.

I was thinking of that song tonight, which lyrics I can't find online (and I only have the song on tape somewhere), as I looked out at the snow. Because there is only one way to describe the chunky, heavy, thick layer covering us now: it's like the explosion of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.
