April Fools

The kiddos loved April Fool's Day today and ended up calling most of the family to tease them. We had a few rules--whatever the trick, it could not be mean or make them sad or upset (i.e. "the cats got out" or "the house is on fire"). They came up with most of the ideas by themselves.

For Mama, we called to say that there was no work today and that she should come home. Sis and Bud started laughing and saying it was April Fool's before they had even finished the joke. We all thought that was funny.

For Gommie, we told her over the phone that it was snowing. And it worked! And it worked again on Pop! She tried to tell us that there was a bird in her house, but we didn't fall for it.

For Babysitter, we said we had a new kitten upstairs. And she believed us!

Then, when she came home, Mama told us that she had seen a moose on the way home from work--and Sis believed her, though Bud sceptically asked if it were true.

For Ma and Gong, we called to say that Mama had seen a moose on the way home from work. They laughed. At least they pretended to believe us . . . .

Fun foolishness . . . . .
