Ancient and Heirloom Recipes

I have become a big fan of Whole Foods's steam table/salad bar/service counter area, having taken the kids there for lunch now and few times. Bud likes the fruit. Sis today got Virginia ham and a baguette. Mama got sushi. I wandered, looking at the wild rice salad (with chickpeas and squash), lemon quinoa (with squash and feta), marinated gigante-like beans, and all the wonderful Indian hot foods. Two of my new favorite salads are the Ancient Grains medley and Heirloom Beans salad. And today I found them in the prepackaged food-to-go section and so now have a better idea what goes into them. I'm definitely go to try making my own, probably pared down adaptations.
