Mama and Bud are sick. Probably colds because there is no fever. Fairly uncomfortable and unhappy, particularly Mama, who has been hit hard and yet has so much to do at home and work. No fun.
O can sympathise with Mama, I have been down with a heavy cold, in bed all night and most of Sunday morning. Not me at all but I have listened to the radio. Ten K children were secretly and without parents evacuated from Nazi Germany in 1939, they all arrived in this country and were found foster homes, some happy, some less so (rather like me and my evacuation). Come 1945, war over, and in one case parents arrived in 1949 to collect daughter who refused to go away with this strange woman (her real mother) but was forced to. When aged 15 she managed to get back to England and is still here 60 years later, no word of how the natural parents came to terms with that. Mama, take a big shot of whiskey,go to bed and you will wake up a new woman, I shall follow my own advice, I know it works.
