Hamburger = Paralysis
If you eat ground beef, read Stephanie Smith's story. Her mom made her a hamburger for dinner and she ended up in coma for 9 weeks and paralyzed. She's 22. The hamburger, sold as a frozen hamburger patty that her mom grilled, had bits from all over the world, including a South Dakota company that treats fats with ammonia to kill bacteria. It was not the "angus" patty the packaging said it was. Sure, her reaction to the E. coli bacteria in the burger was extreme, but people are sickened and killed every year by bad meat. Let's press for tighter regulation of the food industry--I know everyone won't be a vegetarian, but I'd like everyone to be safer. Until then, no ground beef for my kids.
