How Am I Going to Eat Turkey Tomorrow?

We've been talking turkey for weeks now. Every morning, the kiddos ask when they are going to see Goo, Gong, and Ma (DP's family)--"is it turkey time?"--not today. We've painted turkeys, glued turkeys, and colored turkeys. Sung songs. Made special trips to view the two different inflatable turkeys in the area--the one without the backpack and the one with. We received a package from my folks tonight with lots of turkey decorations and paper goods and spent the evening prepping the house with the table centerpieces as well as the stuffed turkey toys retrieved from our basement. Tonight we even read about Dora's Thanksgiving and talked about who we were thankful for. Tomorrow we'll watch the parade and the Charlie Brown special on DVD, a tradition from DP's childhood.

Turkeys, turkeys everywhere . . .

and now a bite to eat?

It all almost makes me want to be a vegetarian.

I mean, what other holiday uses its sacrificial victim as the symbol of that holiday?

Oh, except Easter.
