I have a new hospice patient, a delightful and talkative British woman in her 90s. She's pretty vibrant, for hospice, but has advanced dementia. She doesn't remember that her husband is dead and doesn't understand why he doesn't visit her. She is so sad. And it's no sure continually reminding her that he died. My job, as visitor, will be to distract and entertain her as best as I can.
